DIY Metal Plastic Gen Magnetic Core Update Kit

This is the kit to convert (as DIY) your existing Jawas Metal beys to a magnetic bit chip solution instead of the glue in place solution for the bit chip that exists now.

The following parts are included.

1) A complete Core (LHS or RHS) depending.

2) A bit chip with the holes for the magnets.

3) QTY 4 of 5 x 1mm neodymium magnets. 

4) A bit chip sticker for the appropriate bey (you must message or add an order note specifying this). 

5) a pair of "core spacer" plastic parts that are to be glued onto the new core to ensure the attack ring can lock into the new core. 

 

The DIY process has two versions depending on what core you currently have.

1) If you have a threaded core already.

All you need to do is undo the screw on the existing core, and undo the screw on the new core. Swap the top most layer between them.

Then you may need to glue the included "plastic spacer pads" into the core to help it lock. 

 

2) If you don't have a threaded core.

You will need to heat up (only the base) to loosen the glue at about 100c for at least 2 or so hours (use an old toaster oven - or something that will not be used for food again). This must be done by a responsible adult and all safety precautions should be followed. The following are not exhaustive and local laws/guidelines for this type of work should be followed. (handling with flame proof full arm length mist, face protection either safety glasses or safety shield, and non flammable clothing).

Once heated, the core can be manipulated out of the base with some pliers. 

Then you must glue the new core in place and glue the plastic interference pads included to help the attack ring lock.
